Yew Tree Community School

PSHE (including statutory Relationships and Health Education)

The MY Schools Together Federation uses the Kapow Programme of Study for RSE and PSHE. The programme of study is a spiral, progressive scheme of work which gives the children relevant learning experiences to help them navigate their world and to develop positive relationships with themselves and others.

It consists of three areas of learning in EYFS to match the EYFS Personal, social and emotional development prime area and five areas of learning across Key stages 1 and 2.

EYFS:

  • Self-regulation
  • Building relationships
  • Managing self

Key stage 1 and 2:

  • Families and relationships
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Safety and the changing body (Year 6 cover personal identity and body image)
  • Citizenship
  • Economic wellbeing

We regularly consult with parents about our PSHE including RSE curriculum.
