Religious Education

The school uses the Discovery RE scheme as the main framework for the teaching of Religious Education and is enhanced by cross-curricular activities so that the children present their findings in a variety of ways. The children study the main religions of the world and visits to different places of worship give the children the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions.

This academic year the following visits have taken place: Year 6 visited a local Islamic Centre; Year 5 visited a Gurdwara; Year 4 visited Manchester Central Library for a workshop on Judaism; Year 3 had a Diwali workshop in school led by a lady from the local Hindu temple; Year 2 visited the local church, and Year 1 will be going to Manchester Cathedral to take part in some Easter workshops.
